Life is good! I'm living in sunny Rancho Mirage with my best friend, Ron Finch. We enjoy the great outdoors and all things cultural. Together we enjoy tennis, hiking, cycling, dancing, traveling. We'll be moving on to other cities in the U.S. after we tire of our adventures in the desert.
I retired from Bear Valley Unified School District in 2009. Yes, I miss the students and the creative aspect of elementary teaching, but I do not miss the endless hours of preparation and paper correcting. Education was a great career for 30 years!
Following a decade of mountain bike training and racing based in Big Bear Lake, I love learning my new sport, tennis. I am on the “fast track” with tennis lessons, clinics and purchasing cute tennis wear. Palm Springs Tennis Club arranges games so I can apply those developing skills. I am making great new friends there, as well as improving my game enough to play in the 3.5 division. Pretty amazing since I had previously played very little tennis!
Investing in the stock market is also new to me. What a wickedly wild ride on Wall Street! Kudos to Apple (aapl) for my greatest gains. Jobs and Wozniak changed my life with my very first computer, the Macintosh II LC, which I still own, although newer models have replaced it.
My three children, Jill, Rich and Mark have given me six wonderful grandchildren and two (twin) great grandchildren. My daughter lives with her family in Henderson, NV. Jill, formerly in the mortgage business, is currently training to be a Registered Nurse. The medical fields predominate in the Jameson line. Rich and his two daughters live in Aliso Viejo, CA. Rich is tops in his field of Air Conditioning and Heating. While working full time and being a single dad, he is also developing his own AC business. Mark, also a full time single dad, is developing his own electrical business, which is growing faster than the Las Vegas economy!
